Professor Daniel MacArthur was interviewed on ABC Nightlife about genomic medicine guiding the future of health.
DNA sequences may well hold the secrets to better health. Profound changes in the practice of medicine are underway, being driven by rapid developments in several fields, particularly in genomics. It is enabling us to better understand the genetic basis of diseases such as cancer.
Professor Daniel MacArthur is Director of the Centre for Population Genomics, based jointly at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne. He joined Philip Clark from Washington D.C. where he’s been attending the largest human genetics meeting of the year, the American Society of Human Genetics.
